Introduction

The miniOrange Social Login plugin lets your website visitors log in or register using their social media accounts (such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). With an easy installation and several options to customize the login appearance, you can quickly simplify user registration and improve the login experience without writing any code.

Step 1: Install and Activate the Plugin

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  3. In the search box, type “miniOrange Social Login”.
  4. Click Install Now on the miniOrange Social Login plugin.
  5. After installation, click Activate from the Plugins page.

This step makes the plugin available on your website and is designed for users who are not developers.

Step 2: Configure the Plugin Apps

Once activated, the plugin settings allow you to choose which social apps you want to enable:

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to the miniOrange Social Login settings (usually found under a new menu item named “miniOrange” or “Social Login”)
  2. Click on the Configure Apps tab.
    • Pre-configured App: Use miniOrange’s built-in settings if available.
    • Custom App: Set up your own credentials (this is what you’ll do for Google).
  3. You will see icons for the various social login providers. You have two options for each:
  4. Select an icon (for example, click the Google icon) and follow the on-screen instructions.

Choosing your preferred social login app is as simple as clicking on its icon and following the guided steps.

Step 3: Customize the Login Icons

Personalize the look and feel of your social login buttons:

  1. Navigate to the Customize Login Icons tab.
  2. Here you can:
    • Preview how the icons will appear on your site.
    • Choose from different shapes (round, square, etc.) and themes.
    • Adjust the size, spacing, and colors to match your site’s design.
  3. Once satisfied, click Save.

This allows you to ensure that the social login buttons integrate seamlessly with your website’s design.

Step 4: Set Display Options

Decide where the social login buttons should appear on your site:

  1. Go to the Display Options tab.
  2. Select the pages or forms where you want the social login options to appear (for example, the default WordPress login page, registration page, WooCommerce checkout page, or BuddyPress forms).
  3. Save your settings.

You can control the placement of social login buttons so that visitors see them exactly where needed.

Step 5: Configure Redirection Options

Set up where users land after they log in or log out:

  1. Click on the Redirection Options tab.
  2. Specify the URL of the page where users should be redirected after a successful login or after logout.
  3. Save your configuration.

This feature improves the user experience by ensuring they land on a page that fits your website’s flow after signing in.
