How to Use Upcoming Future?

The Upcoming Feature is designed to showcase all future content scheduled for release on your platform.
On the user side, these items appear under the Upcoming section, along with a “Remind Me” button that allows users to get notified when the content becomes available.

On the admin side, you simply set a release date for the movie or show. Once the release date arrives, the content is automatically published, making it available for users to watch instantly—no manual action required.

Why User Upcoming?

The Upcoming feature helps your platform grow and improve user engagement in multiple ways:

  • Attract users with new and exciting content that is coming soon.
  • Encourage users to return by providing a Remind Me option.
  • Boost anticipation and retention, especially for big releases.
  • Create hype and maintain user interest even before the content is available.

User-Side View (Upcoming Content Display)

1. Movies, Video and TV show

On the user side, upcoming movies or video are clearly highlighted with two important elements:

1. Release Date Display

As shown in the screenshot, the upcoming content displays a Release Date badge (e.g., “Release on Sunday, November 30, 2025”).
This lets users know exactly when the movie or show will become available to watch.

2. “Remind Me” Button

We provide a Remind Me button so users can set a reminder for the upcoming release.
When a user clicks the button:

  • The reminder is added For that user.
  • Once the content officially releases, the user automatically receives a release notification.
  • This ensures the user never misses the launch of new content they are interested in.

This feature helps increase engagement, keeps users excited for new releases, and drives more traffic at launch time.

2. TV Shows Seasons

For TV shows seasons, the upcoming feature works slightly differently compared to other because each TV show can contain multiple seasons. To make it clear and user-friendly, the system highlights upcoming seasons using a visual badge and provides reminder options.

How Upcoming Seasons Are Displayed to Users

When a season is marked as upcoming in the admin panel:

  • The Season Tab is labeled with a “Coming Soon” badge (as shown in the screenshot).
  • Users can still click on the season tab, but they will see an upcoming preview instead of playable episodes.
  • The season details page displays:
    • Release Date
    • Season Title
    • Short description
    • Remind Me button(It work similar as Movie, video and TV show)

3. Episodes

The Upcoming feature is also applied to TV Show episodes. When an episode is marked as upcoming in the admin panel, it is visually highlighted to users across both the season listing and the single episode detail page. This ensures users are always aware of future releases and can set reminders for specific episodes.

1. Season Episode List – Upcoming Episode Preview

In the season episode list (see first image), any episode that is not yet released will display a “Coming Soon” label. This helps users instantly identify which episodes are currently available and which ones will be released in the future.

  • Each upcoming episode shows a thumbnail preview.
  • The Coming Soon badge is placed clearly on top of the episode thumbnail.
  • Users can browse through all upcoming episodes within a season, allowing them to stay aware of the show’s progression and release timeline.

This layout is designed to maintain user engagement by keeping them informed about future content at a glance.

2. Single Episode Page – Upcoming Episode Countdown

When the user opens an individual episode that is upcoming (see second image), a dedicated coming soon countdown page is displayed instead of the video player.

This page includes:

  • A large poster banner of the episode.
  • A countdown timer showing exact days, hours, minutes, and seconds until release.
  • The scheduled release date displayed prominently.
  • A Remind Me button, allowing users to receive an automatic notification once the episode becomes available.

This ensures users stay engaged and excited about upcoming episodes while giving them a clear timeline for release.

Player Security for Upcoming Content

To ensure platform security and prevent users from accessing unreleased content, we have added a dedicated player-level restriction for upcoming movies and episodes.

Even if a user manually types the video URL or attempts to open the player directly, the system will block playback until the scheduled release date arrives.

Instead of the video player, the user will see an Upcoming Countdown Screen (as shown in the screenshot), which displays:

  • The title of the upcoming content
  • A Coming Soon label
  • The exact release date
  • A real-time countdown (days, hours, minutes, seconds)
  • A Remind Me button so the user can receive a release notification

This security layer ensures that no content can be watched before its official release time, keeping your media protected and maintaining platform integrity.
