What’s New in 4.0

🔄 Migration Guide for Streamit 4.0

If you’re upgrading from an earlier version, follow these migration steps to ensure a smooth transition: Step in Detail

1️⃣ Backup Your Website (Highly Recommended)

Before making any changes, create a full backup of your website, including:

  • Database Backup – Use plugins like UpdraftPlus, WPVivid, or All-in-One WP Migration.
  • File Backup – Backup your themes, plugins, media, and custom configurations.
  • Check PHP & WordPress Version – Ensure your server runs on PHP 7.4+ or PHP 8.x and WordPress 6.0+.

Why? In case of migration issues, you can restore your old website without losing data.

2️⃣ Update the Theme

Now, update Streamit to Version 4.0 to access the latest features and improvements.

🔹 How to Update?
  1. Download the latest Streamit 4.0 package from Envato/ThemeForest.
  2. Go to Appearance → Themes and click Upload New Theme.
  3. Select the Streamit 4.0 ZIP file and click Install Now.
  4. Once installed, click Activate.

3️⃣ Install the ‘Streamit Import’ Plugin

After updating the theme, you need to install the ‘Streamit Import’ plugin to migrate your old data properly.

🔹 How to Install?
  • Go to Streamit Options → Dashboard.
  • Click “Migrate Your Old Data”.
  • Click “Install Plugin”, and you will be redirected to the migration page.
🔹 Why is this necessary?
  • This plugin ensures a seamless migration of all your content.
  • It automatically maps old database structures to the new version

4️⃣ Run the Migration Wizard

Once the plugin is installed, you can start the migration process.

🔹 Steps to Run Migration:
  • Navigate to Streamit Options → Migrate Your Old Data.
  • Click Start Migration to begin transferring your content.
  • Monitor the progress and wait until it completes.

  • TV Shows & Episodes
  • Movie & Video Playlists
  • Watchlist & Continue Watching Data
  • Categories & Terms
❌ Data NOT Migrated (Requires Manual Setup):
  • Comments
  • TV Show Playlists
  • Notifications
  • Old Elementor Widgets (Must be reconfigured manually)

5️⃣ Deactivate Old Plugins

Some plugins used in older versions are deprecated in Streamit 4.0 and must be deactivated before migrating.

  • Streamit Extensions
  • Iqonic Layouts
  • WP ULike
  • MAS Videos
🔹 How to Deactivate?
  • Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins
  • Find the listed plugins
  • Click Deactivate

6️⃣ Review & Test Your Website

Once migration is completed, review your website to ensure everything is working as expected.

  • Check Your Content – Verify movies, TV shows, watchlists, and playlists.
  • Review Plugins – Make sure only compatible plugins are activated.
  • Test Website Functionality – Check video playback, user interactions, and UI layout.
  • Set Header & Footer Menus – Go to Appearance → Menus and assign your navigation.
  • Import Demo Pages (Optional) – If you want pre-made homepages, use Demo Importer.

📢 Important Notes:

  • Rollback: If you encounter any issues after upgrading to Streamit 4.0, don’t worry! We also provide rollback steps to help you. Click here for assistance.
  • Elementor Widget Changes: If you use old Elementor widgets, you will need to reconfigure them manually in the new version. Click here for assistance.
  • Plugin Compatibility: Some older plugins are no longer supported. Make sure you check the compatibility list before activating them.
