Connection Testing & Validation

Avoid empty links during patient hours by validating your connection before going live.

🔘 Usage of the “Test Connection” Button

In the Global Settings or Doctor Dashboard, you will find a “Test Zoom Config” button. Clicking this triggers the KCTZoom->test_connection() method which performs three checks:

  1. Credential Format: Checks if Client ID/Secret are properly entered.
  2. API Reachability: Attempts to ping api.zoom.us/v2/.
  3. Token Validity: Verifies that the current access token allows for “Meeting Creation” scopes.

✅ What a Successful Test Looks Like

  • Message: “Connection Successful”
  • Metadata: Displays the Zoom Username linked to the account.

🛠️ Manual Validation Step

If the test button passes but meetings aren’t created:

  1. Go to Appointments.
  2. Create a test appointment for tomorrow.
  3. Check the kc_appointment_zoom_mappings table (or appointment details).
  4. If zoom_id is present, the end-to-end integration is perfect.
