Configuring the WPBookit Plugin for WhatsApp Integration: A Step-by-Step Guide

The WPBookit plugin allows seamless integration of WhatsApp for notifications, enabling real-time communication with your users. Follow the detailed instructions below to configure WhatsApp integration with WPBookit:

Access WPBookit Settings

  • After activating the plugin, navigate to the WPBookit Dashboard>settings page:
    • From the submenu, select Settings to access the configuration options, then click on WhatsApp Meta Notification Settings.
  • Enter the WhatsApp Access Token you generated earlier during the Meta Developer setup:
    • Paste the token into the designated field for WhatsApp integration.
    • Optionally, configure additional WhatsApp settings if available, such as message templates or notification triggers.
  • After entering the WhatsApp access token and completing any additional configurations:
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the settings page.
    • Click the Save Changes button to apply and save your WhatsApp integration settings.

WhatsApp Notification Template

The WhatsApp Notification Template List provides a streamlined interface for managing templates. It displays key details such as ID, name, notification type, and Facebook type status, ensuring compliance with WhatsApp’s Business API. You can enable, disable, edit, or delete templates easily, allowing efficient organization and management of WhatsApp notifications.

Adding a New WhatsApp Notification Template

The Add New Template feature allows you to create and configure custom WhatsApp notification templates to streamline communication with your customers. Follow these steps to add a new template:

Step 1: Access the Template Creation Interface

  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates section in your dashboard.
  2. Click on the Add New Template button. This will open the template creation form.

Step 2: Fill in the Template Details

Complete the required fields in the form:

  • Template Name: Provide a unique name for the template for easy identification.
  • Notification Type: Select the type of notification this template will be used for, such as reminders, order updates, or promotions.
  • Facebook Type: Specify the category as per WhatsApp’s guidelines (e.g., transactional, promotional).
  • Message Content: Write the actual message to be sent. You can include dynamic placeholders like customer name, order details, or booking date to personalize the message.
  • Language: Choose the language in which the template is written.

Step 3: Configure Settings

  1. Enable/Disable: Set whether this template should be active immediately or saved as a draft.
  2. Preview Message: Review how the message will appear on WhatsApp to ensure proper formatting and placeholder usage.

Step 4: Save and Submit for Approval

  1. Once all details are entered, click Save to add the template to your list.
  2. If the template needs Facebook approval, submit it for verification to ensure compliance with WhatsApp Business API rules.

Step 5: Managing the New Template

After adding the new template:

  • The template will appear in the Template List with its details, including ID, name, type, status, and actions.
  • Use the Edit option to make modifications if needed.
  • Enable or disable the template as per your requirements.
