Upgrade from Lite to Pro

Overview

Upgrading from KiviCare Lite to KiviCare Pro unlocks advanced features that support scalable and professional healthcare workflows. These include multi-clinic management, enhanced notification services, custom forms, detailed reporting modules, advanced billing options, and powerful third-party integrations.

This guide explains when to upgrade, how to upgrade, and what happens to your existing data during the upgrade process.


When Should You Upgrade to Pro?

You should upgrade to KiviCare Pro if your clinic requires:

  • Multi-clinic or multi-location management
  • Advanced notification services (SMS and WhatsApp via Twilio)
  • Custom forms and encounter templates
  • Detailed patient medical reports
  • Advanced billing and tax management
  • WooCommerce payment gateway support
  • Google Calendar integration
  • Fine-grained permission and access control

KiviCare Lite is suitable for basic clinic operations, while KiviCare Pro is designed for clinics that need scalability, automation, and advanced workflow control.


Upgrade Process

Step 1: Purchase KiviCare Pro

Purchase the KiviCare Pro plugin package from the official source provided by your vendor.

You will receive:

  • The KiviCare Pro plugin ZIP file
  • A license key (if applicable)

Step 2: Install the KiviCare Pro Plugin

  1. Log in to the WordPress Admin Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Upload the KiviCare Pro .zip file
  4. Click Install Now

Important: Do not deactivate the KiviCare Lite plugin unless explicitly instructed.


Step 3: Activate KiviCare Pro

After installation:

  1. Click Activate Plugin
  2. The system will automatically:
    • Detect the existing KiviCare Lite installation
    • Enable Pro features
    • Extend existing modules without data loss

No manual migration or configuration is required.


What Happens After the Upgrade?

Once the upgrade is complete:

  • All existing data from KiviCare Lite remains intact
  • New Pro modules become available in the dashboard
  • Additional configuration options appear under existing menus
  • Advanced features can be configured immediately

There is no disruption to existing appointments, patient records, or clinical data.


Common Upgrade Questions

Q) Will upgrading affect my existing data?

No. Upgrading from KiviCare Lite to Pro does not remove, overwrite, or modify existing data. All patient records, appointments, and clinic information remain unchanged.
