The Google Event Template feature allows you to customize how KiviCare appointments appear when they are synced to Google Calendar. By defining a standardized event title and description, you can ensure that all essential appointment details are clearly visible to doctors and staff directly within their calendar view.
2. Configuration Fields
Google Event Title
- Purpose: Defines the subject line of the Google Calendar event.
- Default Value:
Service_name
- Usage:
You may enter static text or use dynamic placeholders (if supported by your version) to automatically insert information such as:
- Service name
- Patient name
- Other key appointment identifiers
Google Event Description
- Purpose: Defines the detailed content displayed in the body of the Google Calendar event.
- Editor: Rich text editor (supports formatting such as bold text, lists, and links).
- Content Options:
You can include:
- Instructions for the doctor
- Patient details
- Direct links to the appointment in KiviCare
This ensures that anyone viewing the calendar event has full context without needing to log back into the KiviCare dashboard.
3. Benefits
- Consistency: All synced appointments follow a standardized and professional format.
- Clarity: Doctors see meaningful titles such as “Patient Consultation – John Doe” instead of generic labels like “Meeting.”
- Accessibility: Essential appointment details are available on mobile devices and offline through the native Google Calendar app.
4. Operational Notes
- Sync Requirement:
The template applies only to appointments synced after the settings are saved. Existing Google Calendar events will not be updated retroactively.
